All shelves behave the same as a vanilla shelf, except they have no default storage settings. Before everything seemed to fit perfectly with odd numbers in building. Now its impossible when trying to do it with shelves without a serious decrease in aesthetics to your pantry. Or at least I haven't found a layout that works and looks pretty. Honestly, we need 3 tile shelves and corner shelves, or at least a way for them attach to each-other seamlessly around corners and such like fences do. Maybe even a shelf that looks to be accessible from both sides of a tile. I dunno, I feel like there should be more focus on letting players make their bases look good too. A shelf for storing miscellaneous items. Items stored in this will not affect room beauty and they won't deteriorate, even if outside. If I'm right about pulling from stockpiles you could for example keep some boxed up and deploy them at construction sites so people haul the required stuff right there instead of wasting time running around constantly for it. Before everything seemed to fit perfectly with odd numbers in building. You can link shelves, even if they are uncompleted. Shelves used to be great for preventing deterioration while storing items outdoors, but now that deterioration happens a a result of both being outdoors and being unroofed, I don't know if they're still useful for that.. They're only 30 wood and build super quick. Each shelf gives thrice the storage space. Set one, and copy and paste the rest if, for example, you're making a bulk textile area.
