The Resident Advisor role is for students who want to be leaders and create community for the Office of Housing and Residence Life, resident advisor. The RA assumes responsibility for fostering an environment that supports the academic and personal development of students. The RA works closely with the Office of Residence Life to maintain a level of consistency between the living resident advisor and office regarding community standards. The role requires dedication, flexibility, commitment, resident advisor, and enthusiasm as the RA will actively respond to the changing needs of the residential community.

For this reason, and because RAs are called on to act in the case of any emergency situation on campus, the RAs are required to live in and are compensated for a specific room designated by the Office of Residential Life.
