I got a new HP computer with windows I can't get it to recognize my graphtec ce

I've been scouring the internet for a few days now and haven't really found a good answer to my question. I went to order a zencut green the other day because they appeared to get one back in stock but I was out of luck, so now I have some credit towards another cutter and I'm thinking about making the jump to a graphtec. The driving force behind my decision on the zencut was the price and the servo motor. The graphtec isn't as nice of a price but I'm still interested in getting a machine that does a better job than my current MH series. I talked to someone who claimed the CE was mostly superficial updates over the CE and that I would be better off saving some money and getting the CE starter kit less money, plus a bunch of supplies. So my questions:. At this point I'm already pretty well established locally and I have a good selection of vinyl and tools.

When the new Graphtec CE cutter was delivered, an engineer came round and got me started with a brief introduction. I was shown how the different settings apply and received some basic tips including a good explanation about the importance of the offset setting. An incorrect offset setting means less accurate corners and more difficult weeding. I haven't had to re-adjust the offset yet as the variety of vinyl I've used to date has been limited; but at least I was made aware of it, so when I do use a different degree blade or thicker vinyl, I'll know what to do. While the engineer was there we did a few test cuts with the offset at different settings so that I could recognise when it is set incorrectly. Because the centre of the blade is not where the cut is usually made, the machine has to send the centre of the blade past the point to be cut, by an amount that relates to the offset see diagram left ; otherwise the blade will cut past or not up to the point it is supposed to and therefore the cut lines either don't meet or they overlap, and weeding the vinyl becomes difficult. The two images below show the corners becoming rounded off when an incorrect offset has been used to cut a 1cm square of vinyl. The vinyl should have been cut to a perfect square with the triangle inside it as the third image shows. I had two problems only when using the Graphtec CE and neither of these were to do with the machine itself. The first was to do with accurate cutting over long lengths. The tracking of this machine is so good that whenever there was a problem, it was always down to me. Either I was using vinyl wound too loosely on the roll or I hadn't lined up the roll correctly on the machine, although this should have been simple with the guidelines that the CE has. One weekend when I was happily cutting away on a job to be completed by that Monday, the Cutting Master 2 plugin just stopped working suddenly, for no apparent reason. Initially I had a panic about the Monday deadline and because I didn't know what to do or who to contact.

Working on Sign Update means that I speak to a lot of people in the industry and I have come to the conclusion that if you want to make money in this business, you need to be able to offer your customers something that not everyone plotter graphtec ce5000 is able to do, plotter graphtec ce5000. My cutter is on Windows XP, and Windows 7 for everyday stuff.

From what I can tell the cuts a bit faster, but I rarely cut at full speed anyway and my orders are not so large and so frequent that I need to minimize the time the material is on the cutter. I've taken a lot of your advice on machine settings with my MH series, with good results, so I know you're an experienced individual. Slideshow CK. Did you set the correct Command on the vinyl cutter, for the cutting software? I've been using a rudimentary cutter for the past year so I'm not very familiar with all the features and technology the higher end cutters possess. I'll be upgrading from an MH mk2, so really anything will be better. The zencut green was an easy choice, I wanted a servo motor and it's price point came in well below the rest after it was discontinued. So far from my own research it appears the CE has a faster top speed and higher cutting pressure, which are things I am not overly concerned about. The Graphtec and series isn't offered in 30" size and the FC shows out of stock in 30". Register a new account. I simply lined up the sensor with the first registration mark and then off it went, to find the other three marks. I'm really just looking for any solid reasons to choose between the CE and CE at this point. He'll sit down, hit about 3 buttons and it'll start working, darn kids and tech. Everything started working again and I got the job completed on time.
