As announced, pursuant to an administrative order by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority KBA Mercedes-Benz has been carrying out mandatory recalls related to diesel emissions since , in which software updates are being installed. If technically necessary, NOx sensors are also replaced. Customers will be informed if a measure needs to be carried out for their individual vehicle. They will then be asked to make an appointment with their nearest service partner. Since , various mandatory recalls have been added. According to the legal stance of the KBA, certain specific calibrations of functionalities in the engine control of particular vehicle variants need to be changed. In order to obtain clarity on a complex matter, Mercedes-Benz filed objections against the administrative orders issued by the KBA and asked the relevant court for legal clarification on open legal questions.
