Nier: Automata [b] is a action role-playing game developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix. It is a sequel to Nier , itself a spin-off of and sequel to the Drakengard series. Nier: Automata was originally released for the PlayStation 4 and Windows via Steam , and an Xbox One port was published the following year. A Nintendo Switch port was released in Nier: Automata is set during a proxy war between alien-created Machines and human-crafted androids, focusing on the actions of combat android 2B , scanner android 9S, and rogue prototype A2.

A pretty weighty demo for Nier: Automata is available to download now on the PlayStation store. As further videos have emerged, the community has continued work toward solving this strange situation, though Nier: Automata modders seem largely in agreement that this is more likely some kind of marketing stunt rather than an extremely elaborate modding reveal.
