I want all of the burgers and fries! And I can't believe there's a whole business just doing Knafeh - I love it! OMG the truffe is back!!!! Defo going to check them out this week! And yes double burgers are a must for double the juiciness! Have been wanting to try both but every weekend comes and I'm so busy or in the opposite direction. Might have to follow your footsteps and hit up both in the one go this weekend!

Nina Rocket. March I live in a predominantly white neighborhood in north Phoenix. Many of the local shopping centers are occupied by American-style retail stores and restaurants. In the corner of one shopping strip however, a pocket of diversity stands out. Sweets, a Lebanese bakery. I entered the bakery, eyes scanning in awe of the array of cookies, varieties of baklava, ice cream, and cakes sitting elegantly behind their glass cases. As I admired the variety of Middle Eastern pastries, the owner Michael Shatila came out and greeted me. As we talked about baklava and Lebanese ice cream, he also told me about his life and business. Nearly a million Lebanese were displaced from their homeland during the Civil War, which lasted until Many of them sought refuge in America just as the Shatila family did. For the Shatila family, the move to America was supposed to be temporary, but the family made America their home.

In Middle Eastern cuisine Knafeh is a traditional breakfast, much like waffles or pancakes in the US. This impressive dessert is best served hot or warm. Making knafeh looks more intimidating that it actually does. The hardest part about this recipe, is finding the ingredients, especially the phyllo dough. Shredded phyllo dough can be found at any Middle Eastern store or you can order it online.

Made far and wide right around the world, Knafeh is something you definitely want to try. There are a couple of places in the Old City of Jerusalem that make an incredible Knafeh. But nothing beats what you can get when visiting Nablus, Palestine, the birthplace of Knafeh. Or at least the modern home, since the exact origins are unknown, other than that it was made by the people of the region. However, Nablus does hold the world record for the largest ever Knafeh at feet long, and 3 feet wide. Knafeh is a Middle Eastern dessert most often eaten in the countries of the Levant. The ingredients are simple, with a cheese filling and a crunchy topping of shredded phyllo. Flavored with orange blossom water , and rose water , with a sweet syrup soaking through it all.

This next generation are focussed on doing one or two things only. The taste is so good and mouth watering dish. Love that place!! Ratings of Mr. I decided to bring my children in to test the ice cream; with the hot temperatures in Phoenix it is always nice to find a local ice cream business to support. A Lebanese American Festival is held annually that shares Lebanese culture in the form of cuisine and entertainment such as live bands and Dabke dancers. Food shopping in Sydney.. Michael is very proud of his varieties of baklava; he shared several samples with me and they did not disappoint. Looks like these places are really working with the "do one thing, and do it well" concept! You do need to stir that baby up with the straw, otherwise you'll hit a backlog of pastry bits at the end.
