Paradox Interactive gave publishing rights back to TaleWorlds as of January 31, It is the latest game in this series. The expansion includes a new desert-dwelling faction named the Sarranid Sultanate. The Overland map has been completely rearranged to accommodate the new faction. You can also properly create your own kingdom and rule over vassals as can any other kingdom's leader. The vassals of the default kingdoms no longer have the title of Lord , and their titles change depending on the faction they belong to.

Announced in January , the game was developed by the Turkish company TaleWorlds Entertainment and was published by Paradox Interactive on March 30, Beyond the original factions of Swadia, Rhodoks, Vaegirs, Khergit Khanate, and the Nords, Warband expands on the original game by introducing a sixth faction the Sarranid Sultanate , increasing political options, adding the ability for the player to start their own faction, and incorporating multiplayer modes. Reviews of the game were generally favorable, with the addition of multiplayer. As of January 31, , Paradox Interactive is no longer the publisher for Warband and has given publishing back to the developer. At the start of the game, the player customizes the character and is spawned into the world. Traveling around the overworld map is done by pointing and clicking on the desired location. If the player encounters other parties, combat may occur, at which point the game switches to real time.

The gameplay is mostly free-form; unlike most games there is no main storyline to follow, but quests still play a major role and are a key way of gaining wealth and respect in the land of Calradia. The new expansion, Mount And Blade: Warband features better graphics, multiplayer, new weapons, armor and quests. The map of Caliradia has been recreated to look more like a real landscape, it also features a new faction, The Sarranid Sultnate. After the character creation you have to choose in which major city you want to start in, each city is the capital of every faction. Unlike in the original Mount and Blade, Warband gives you basic instructions in basic actions like fighting, there are also a few starting quests. After these quest there are no breadcrumbs to follow, you are on your own, the beginning is usually hard, as there are bandits, deserters and other outlaws just waiting to break you and your warband down and take all those few items that you started out with. But if you manage to survive long enough you should start gaining levels, earning money and even winning a few small battles.

Controls are awkward at best, making it tough to appreciate how good the combat is, but there's a lot of fun here, especially in the eight multiplayer modes for up to 32 players.
