Expand the Gungeon is a mod created by Apache Thunder. It is one of the few expansion mods and adds new floors, items, custom "junk enemies", and a custom boss. Expand the Gungeon currently adds 3 but possibly 4? The Jungle is the first of the custom floors that you will encounter in Expand. The jungle is an alternate floor to The Oubliette. The entrance to The Jungle appears on the first floor in a room with Arrowkin and two locked doors. Behind the locked doors is a large tree, which is the entrance to the jungle. The tree can only be opened using fire, you can either use an Item or Gun that shoots fire, or you can use the oil barrel and explosive barrel found within the room to set the tree on fire. In the jungle there is a crest room, similar to the one in The Oubliette , which is used to access another one of expands floors, Belly of The Beast. The Boss for the jungle is the The Last Human , from the Robot's past, though it is renamed to Com4nd0, and spawns normal enemies as opposed to terminator-like enemies. The Belly is the second of the custom floors you encounter in Expand.

There are many community-made mods for Enter the Gungeon. Mods may add new guns , items , characters , enemies and floors, or change existing behaviour, HUD elements, and more. Mods are installed separately from the base game, using a mod launcher called BepInEx , which can be installed manually or using mod managers like r2modman or the Thunderstore Mod Manager. Dodgeroll has aided in the development of the old mod loader Mod The Gungeon , which has been re-assembled into a more advanced version for use with BepInEx. Semi aims to make creating custom content as easy as possible through it's Application Programming Interface. Everything the API supports is based on named IDs, which removes risk of conflicts between mods and allows better integration. To install mods, you first need to install the Semi mod loader. To accomplish that, you need to use the Semi Graphical Installer.
