What is undoubtedly now an iconic nameplate then has changed in When you're behind the wheel of the Supra, it's an exhilarating drive, thanks in part to the finesse of that 3. For MY21, it's received a boost — from kW to kW between rpm and peak torque of Nm delivered through a slightly higher range of rpm it was previously rpm. The improvement can be seen in the numbers, with the Supra ditching 0. Small gains sure, but gains nonetheless. Crucially, the Supra has a weight distribution ratio, which is always the hallmark of an ideal sportscar. That should, in theory, deliver near-perfect real world balance, stability and in turn, enhance driving connection and precision. Sensible, conservative Toyota has taken leave of its senses. Mainstream cars are good to drive again, and its second new-gen sports car, the Supra, is a fitting halo for the brand. While most of Toyota's lineup consists of consumer-grade sedans and SUVs, models marked with the initials GR represent the automaker's highest levels of performance, and chief among that subset is the GR Supra. While it's based on—and built alongside—the BMW Z4 convertible , the Supra brings an entirely different curb appeal that helped land it on our Editors' Choice list. The Supra's sharp handling and responsive powertrains, however, mean its happier nipping apexes than long highway slogs.
