The real creator is no longer with the company. When the game was remade using the mgs2 engine, the game rules were never redesigned to accommodate for that, so it made everything really easy. The reworked cinematics did receive some criticism due to Kitamura's excessive use of the bullet time effect, which was largely inspired by the then popular hit movie The Matrix.
