What a great shop! I was down in SA a couple of months ago but didn't make it into any shops as it was a whirlwind trip. I'll have to try and get down there again sometime although Lord knows I do NOT need another inch of fabric! Thank you for writing about this quilt shop! What a lovely selection of fabrics. We have no quilt shops left in my area so I am glad to have found this. I enjoy your blog so much.

Mesquite bean fabrics

Funny name for a quilt shop, huh? As they explained to us, it is because of the many mesquite trees in the Texas Hill Country and surrounding areas. And the tree produces beans. The shop opened about a year and a half ago and the owners who I believe are sisters have done a wonderful job stocking the store. They have a good variety of fabrics from some of the popular Moda Kansas Troubles to many new and interesting modern fabrics. And even though the shop is in an upscale looking strip center, you get the homey feel of a quilt shop as soon as you walk in the door. There were quilts hanging everywhere and fabric was nicely merchandised so you saw something interesting any direction you looked. They also had some antique quilting and sewing doodads in the shop for decoration. We enjoyed the shop so much that we went back on Monday before I had to leave town.
