Once Mega evolved, Gyarados drops the Flying type and gains Dark. With this switch, it loses its death weakness to Electric 4x to 2x , but picks up the Dark weaknesses, Bug, Fighting, and Fairy. This is another example of a beastly attacker with a decent defense. While this guy is mainly noted for his incredible attacking power, its special defense is almost as good as its attack and its defense is not too shabby either! This offers a Pokemon that can take a hit as well as dish out some damage somewhat like Tyranitar , just not as good.
