Topics include: econometrics, economic history, economic development, environmental economics, industrial organization, international trade and finance, labour economics, money and banking, and public finance. Offered by: Management Desautels Faculty of Management. Management Core : The role of financial accounting in the reporting of the financial performance of a business. The principles, components and uses of financial accounting and reporting from a user's perspective, including the recording of accounting transactions and events, the examination of the elements of financial statements, the preparation of financial statements and the analysis of financial results. Management Core : Individual motivation and communication style; group dynamics as related to problem solving and decision making, leadership style, work structuring and the larger environment. Interdependence of individual, group and organization task and structure. Management Core : Focusing on skills with respect to analysis, writing and presentation in management. Open to U0 and U1 B. Not open to students who have taken BUSA Management Core : Introduction to principles and concepts of information systems in organizations.
Examination of these issues with reference to sustainable development, business ethics, globalization and developing countries, and political activity.
Bachelor of Arts B. Continuation in the Honours program from one year to the next requires a minimum grade of B- in ECON and a minimum B- average in required and complementary Honours economics courses. Students failing to meet these requirements must switch out of the Honours program. If they continue to register in Honours, they will not be allowed to graduate with Honours. Note that graduation with Honours has more stringent requirements see below than these. To be awarded an Honours degree, a student must obtain a 3.
