Maximum Destruction , also known as Max-D , is a monster truck team owned by Feld Entertainment and operated by Tom Meents that runs as part of the Monster Jam circuit. In , then-Monster Jam parent company Clear Channel Communications signed a cross-promotional deal with World Championship Wrestling to create monster trucks based on professional wrestlers. In order to ensure the success of the truck of Bill Goldberg , one of the most popular WCW wrestlers, Clear Channel contracted the team of Tom Meents who was already popular from driving Monster Patrol and Bulldozer to build and campaign the "Goldberg" truck. Meents debuted in the truck in January at the Georgia Dome , where he won racing and finished third in freestyle. The following year saw a continuation of the dominance, when Meents won the world racing and freestyle championships. For , Meents kept the same truck and body but renamed the truck Team Meents, even retaining much of Goldberg's color scheme and graphics. Neil Elliot began driving a second truck for the team that year as well. Once again, Meents swept both the racing and freestyle at World Finals 3. In , saw the truck change both name and image to become Maximum Destruction, a name which Meents had intended to run the year before until he delayed those plans out of respect for the September 11 attacks. The team has remained significantly popular, and is now generally regarded as the chief rival of Grave Digger, the tour's most popular team. In Meents jumped Maximum Destruction over his old house, before destroying the house with the truck.

For countless years, the roaring stadiums hosting Monster Jam have witnessed tonnes of trucks hosting various designs come and go , but very few have captivated fans and had such an impact as the iconic Maximum Destruction, otherwise referred to as "Max-D". Originally created in by Tom Meents, a former mud racer, the Max-D has elated its fans with its forceful , destructive performances. Considering what Max-D was created to do, it makes perfect sense. One glance at the extravagant silver-and-orange Max-D, and it's clear to see Monster Jam's futuristic vision for the future. Fitted with numerous exterior spikes, a skull-like image, and a fiery yellow stripe, the Max-D is the very definition of futuristic. Although difficult to believe, in a world of foot-tall colossal pickups, Max-D is the dropped-down, aerodynamic one. Because of this, it claims victory as one of the fastest machines in the grueling sport.
