The Mansfield Chad celebrated its Diamond Jubilee this week and to mark the occasion they have produced this special video, looking back at how they have gathered the news and produced your number one local newspaper — and now website — over the past six decades. Chad also published a special 16 page supplement this week, looking back over the past 60 years of news, views and sport. It included an eight-page Retro, featuring a collection of old photographs from the Chad archives. And to celebrate the anniversary, former employees, readers and members of the public joined us at the Old Town Hall in Mansfield to have a look at our special photographic exhibition. What a brilliant record of the past and the present, recorded for the future. So good to see it on the ourmansfieldandarea web site, giving people far and wide an opportunity to learn about the CHAD. Welcome to the parish of Mansfield Woodhouse where we strive to bring God's heart to the the heart of the community. St Edmund's Church stands on a busy crossroads at the heart of the lively 'village' of Mansfield Woodhouse, affectionately known by locals as 'Wudhus'. St Chad's Church, 'the jewel of the Vale', lies in the secluded, peaceful setting of historic Pleasley Vale. We recently welcomed Andrew Porter as our new vicar along with his wife Cathy, who is also ordained, and his family. We look to the future with great anticipation and excitement about what God has in store for us here in Mansfield Woodhouse!

The Mansfield Chad , which began life in as the Ch ronicle Ad vertiser, has marked the milestone with a trip down memory lane for both its journalists and its readers.
