Mahendra cave is a cave located close to Seti River near Pokhara, Kaski and is a large limestone cave. This cave is a rare example of cave system in Nepal containing stalagmites and stalactites. It is believed that, this cave was discovered in late s by young shepherds of Pokhara and got its name from former King, Mahendra Bir bikram Shah Dev. It was popularly surveyed by small team of Speleologists from UK, who documented the animals that lived in the dark zone of the cave. The cave is formed in limestone which falls to the ground and continuously forms electrical sparks and is considered to be the most adventurous cave to be visited as its corridors are completely dark with continuous water dripping. Artificial light is provided approximately half part of cave due to darkness and the cave consists of m of easily accessible passages with m of low unstable corridors entered by way of a collapsed passage only perhaps half a meter high. Beside cave, sightseeing from here is full of greenery and grazing of horses and mules can be frequently observed here.
