October - last edited October I've noticed that if I go and change anything about a rookie player who has a hidden trait , whether it's contract, traits, attributes, etc. Meaning, the " downs" that they are supposed to play, in order to unlock the trait, will not count. Can that be passed up to the Devs, so they can fix it, please? I'm not the biggest fan of this down stuff or the hidden development stuff.

Just like in previous Madden games, you will have chances for breakout games or end of the season development bumps for any player on your team. Anthony Richardson deserves to be superstar, he has the biggest upside with his physical abilities. Zach Carbonnet was the third best running back in the draft and should be a star. Devon Achane is only on this list because of his speed, and Charbonnet is better. He beat out Aaron Donald for the defensive player of the year in my franchise. Pretty sure that Julius Brents is Star and is not listed here. Any rookie not listed on here will start off with Normal development. Let us know in the comments!

Some players may have too low of a starting skill level, be too old to have time for you to properly develop, or simply not have a very high skill ceiling. These dev traits help to guide and determine how quickly a player can develop their skills and what heights their game can reach over the course of their career. In Madden 23, there are four different tiers of development traits that a player can possess. The AI teams will see players with higher development traits as more valuable than a normal dev player of equal age and overall. Normal, as the name implies, is essentially the default dev trait for players. A player with a normal dev trait will see no impact on the amount of XP points required to go up a skill point. The star development trait is the next level up after normal and is the first tier to see any advantages in skill progression. For example using simple math for the sake of the example : if a player with a normal dev trait needs XP points to go up a skill point, a player with star dev would only need 80 XP points assuming factors such as age and current overall are the same. The superstar development trait is the next level up after star and is the first tier to give the player access to abilities for players with an OVR rating above

I feel like it would be better if they set it up to where a player has to hit a certain benchmark, to unlock traits. That's a great way to step up the realism of the game. Re: Issue with Hidden Development Traits. If he doesn't have yards or TDs, then he risks losing his trait. Multiple bad games or low stat games should lead to a career story as well. That would make development so much more enjoyable than the boring way it is now. I truly miss the creative aspect of the past Maddens, when we could design logos and uniforms.
