LotR trilogy is to date the greatest book to movie series ever made. The theatrical version and extended versions are great for their own respective reasons and have different things to offer. Theatrical is an evenly paced story that streamlines the Middle Earth world into a story everyone can understand and love. Whereas the extended edition adds those world building moments and dialogue that flesh out the book readers experience on the big screen. The extended version is definitely worth it! I would definitely recommend over theatrical, it has so much more information and is heaps more easy to follow, although it is longer. This is a great series, and anyone who hasn't seen it, I strongly recommend for you to watch it, it is an awesomely epic series, you won't regret it :.
