Levanto a monterosso
Cinque Terre is Insta-famous for its colourful, photogenic towns, levanto a monterosso, overlooking the Mediterranean sea. So I figured that as this was my second time to this gorge coastal paradise, I really oughta try out a spot of hiking. Well, these hikes vary in difficulty and length, but as we were staying in Levanto, we decided to do the Levanto to Monterosso hike. The hiking route from Levanto to Monterosso covers 7km and should take 2 hours 30 minutes levanto a monterosso complete.

The train from Levanto to Monterosso usually takes 4 minutes on average to travel 3 miles 4 km , although the quickest services can take as little as 4 minutes. You can expect to find 54 trains per day running on this popular route. Good news! There are direct trains available to Monterosso, so you can just make yourself comfortable as soon as you board the train and just enjoy the journey. Trenitalia are the main train operator on this route and will whisk you to Monterosso in no time.

This is a very popular area for backpacking, birding, and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. Hard to find the trail from Levanto. A beautiful trail that hugged the ocean for much of the hike. More rocky and uneven in spots than I expected. Use good shoes or poles. Hands-down, the best hike, and Cinque Terra. Definitely start from Levanto. But as you go on the trail, you will walk past vineyards and villas. But longer. The best view you will find in the land is on this path. You get to see all five cities from this point!!!

Each section can be covered comfortably and cheaply by train, which stops in each of the villages. The described route leads along partly stony paths high above the sea, past lonely farmhouses, olive and fig trees, cacti and typically Mediterranean vegetation. It is highly recommended to take enough drinks with you. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in both Levanto and Monterosso. We continue on what is now the most beautiful section of the trail through maquis, tree heath and pines.

The path always leads along the often steep coastline and you can enjoy wonderful views of the sea. In partly very steep steps we descend between half-high maquis and reach the first houses and thus also an asphalt road that takes us down to Monterosso and the harbour. Following advice, we started in Levanto. The cost of tickets can vary depending on the time of day, route and class you book and are usually more expensive if you book on the day. This wonderful coastal hike takes us from Levanto to the northernmost village of the Cinque Terre - Monterosso. The views are incredible, there is plenty of challenge, the crowds were not bad at all, and people from all around the world were friendly.
