The Aero L Alca is a modern Czech light training and combat aircraft. The prototype flight took place in Inthe machine entered the line in the Czech Air Force and remains in it today.

Further development of the type proceeded, particularly of the twin-seat L models. In , the Czech fleet of 72 LA aircraft was reduced to 24 due to budget constraints.
