As the sequel to RP-0, realism, features, and gameplay experience are improved and deepened. We used to say that it was a lightweight career addon, but it has become a lot more in the recent years. RP-1 is the ultimate community effort. There have been contributions from 76 different community members since the inception of the project so many years ago. As RP-1 has grown and matured, the need for better documentation has grown as well. Community members nepphhh and Norcalplanner have put in a tremendous amount of time to create detailed documentation that provides installation instructions and gameplay tips and tricks.

RP-1 is a career mode for RealismOverhaul with minimal install requirements, and with fair and balanced gameplay. Our aim is to allow players to enjoy RealismOverhaul in career mode, without installing a huge number of modules on top of those required by RealismOverhaul itself. However we also wish to ensure that RP-1 works with as many additional mods as possible; we use a fresh fully icon rebuilt Tech Tree for the basis of career progression, and try to place as many parts from other mods as possible in a historical fashion. Right now a good number of nodes lack much in the way of parts allowing for placement of balanced historically appropriate parts in those nodes. RP-1 is a community effort, and your contributions are appreciated. You can report issues on our issues page , and access the source code on github. When starting the game, we recommend "Easy" or "Normal" for players new to RP-1, and "Moderate" or "Hard" settings for experienced players. For more mod suggestions, go to our recommended mod page. See the latest release for the current version of RP As before it is heavily dependent on a mod suite to provide changes to game play. RO revamps KSP to accurately reflect the properties and behavior of real rockets engines and rocketry materials, aerodynamics in planetary atmospheres, power generation and consumption, and much more.
