Construction on the retail addition to the site, which will also include a low-income housing project, will begin once demolition of the Kmart and related environmental cleanup is completed in May. When complete, Midtown Market will have space for up to 16 tenants. The Burger King fast food restaurant now on-site will remain, and four more 40,square-foot commercial pad sites will be available along University Drive. A list of potential tenants was not made public.
