Apologies to any vegetarians reading this, but there are few things in life more joyous than crispy duck pancakes. And yet Chinese has to be one of the most under-represented cuisines in Reading. We have Indian restaurants all over the place, we have Italians coming out of our ears, as it were, but where can you go in this little town to overfill on prawn crackers, starters and crispy duck only to be defeated by the main courses? Nowhere, as far as I can tell. Furama I have friends who still call it Futurama, which gets annoying after a while has never impressed me. So out into Lower Earley, then, where the mini-precinct at Maiden Place has had something of a makeover. The dining room is quite cleverly laid out with the smaller tables grouped together and the bigger, potentially louder, tables at a slight distance.

A Popular and long-standing restaurant in Lower Earley has changed owners last week. The news was announced to residents and customers on July 1, handing the restaurant to owners Johnny and Natalie. My wife and I have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant for some time and many of my friends have eulogized about Kei's. So recently we finally "bit the bullet" and booked. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. The menu was huge The food was delicious and definitely as good, if not better, than any other local Chinese restaurant we have visited. The service was great and the staff incredibly friendly. We now know why our friends praise this restaurant so much.

First visit in over a year. The food last time was not very good and the service was awful. I am pleased to say on our visit on 16Nov the service was very good and the food was excellent, we will visit again soon October It was my first time visiting Kei's Peking and for this reason I'll not yet rate it as a 5 star. Soon will return and experience tells me that satisfaction either goes up or down. Food is good and tasty, not too spicy and fat. For a westerner it felt well prepared and presented. Highlights were the prawns and the vegetables cooked to perfection. I've enjoyed it. The personnel is helpful and friendly. Felt well cared.
