Living in the Dallas area, I am fortunate to have many dinosaur and fossil themed activities close by me. I am particularly happy to have discovered the Dallas Paleontological Society , a local community of fossil enthusiasts and experts through which I have discovered many other cool things such as Fossilmania at Dinosaur Valley State Park , and met many cool fellow dinosaur nerds. Having recently found out that Jurassic World: The Exhibition would start its national tour at the Grandscape shopping center right here in the Dallas area, several of us from DPS began talking about all going together, including Diane from the Billings Dinosaur Company who I also visited Jurassic Quest and the Heard with , Beau of Dino Bo , and Laura, who many of my readers doubtless already know as Clever Fangirl. Laura had actually already connected with the tour company, and got us all invited to the press preview night, one day before its official June 18th opening! Just to clarify, Jurassic World: The Exhibition is not to be confused with the Jurassic World: Live Tour , with the latter being a sit-down arena experience, typically set up in local sports stadiums. The whole experience aims for a significant degree of immersion, starting nearly the moment guests enter through the front door.

Do you have a dinosaur-loving youngster in your house? A fearless adventurer who is obsessed with these roarsome creatures? A child who loves been transported to whole new worlds? Wondering what to expect? We boarded the ferry and took a trip to the island and stepped out in a whole new world. We walked through the gates of Jurassic World and were greeted by a friendly Brontosaurus. The girls beelined right up to him moving and very lifelike , but by this stage 4-year-old Elliot was already a little afraid and held back. We made our way down the path and met another dinosaur popping up from a trailer and then entered the incubator room, which is what solidified the idea of dinosaurs still being alive. The staff were amazing, showing the kids the baby dinosaurs — which my 8 year old will tell you were breathing on their own and created using DNA of old dinosaurs. There were dinosaur eggs, you could touch dinosaur poo and you could even pat baby dinosaurs — but only if you held out the back of your hand and went gently.

Thanks for subscribing! A great experience - clearly a lot went into making the exhibit feel very real!

Life finds a way — and of all places, to the Great White North! While the multi-movie franchise kickstarted by Steven Spielberg has been cemented in the pop culture zeitgeist since first premiering in theaters 30 years ago, fans of those films now get a chance for the first time in Canada to walk among the fearsome titans. In what is one of the most absorbing, life-like dinosaur exhibits today, Collider got a firsthand preview of the limited engagement event for Jurassic World: The Exhibition opening in the Toronto suburb of Mississauga on April Touring the facilities last week with other members of the press, the immersive, micro-theme park from Universal Studios can be noted as a fun-filled adventure for families and fans of the franchise looking for some summer excitement. Accented by a cozy rainforest-type setting with lush vegetation, trees, and jungle sounds of birds and dinosaurs, the brachiosaurus is the first creature we see, who is incredibly adorable and ties really well into the magnetism of what these movies mean to fans. The animatronics are very impressive with each looking so similar to the dinosaurs featured in the films, which says a lot about the type of production the Universal Live Entertainment Group put into these traveling exhibits, that have been featured in Dallas, London, San Diego, Paris, and more.

An instant slushy in your own home…what could be better? Fortunately, the Indominus itself proved very impressive; the floor beneath us shook as it approached, and it moved incredibly realistically.
