In a boxing competition organized by the local youths, Dio challenged Jonathan at a boxing match and wagered their monthly allowance; thanks to his superior experience in fights, Dio easily beat Jonathan, deprived him of his allowance for the month and also took the time to stick his thumb in Jonathan's eye in the middle of a punch.
