This will be my first time going on this cruise line so I was excited. I will talk all about the amenities aboard and things to do and of course talk about the food and if it was any good, and explore the 5 destinations of Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, St Lucia, and St Maarten. The adventure started bright and early in Phoenix, AZ. The first leg of the flight took me to Charlotte where I had a short layover, just enough time to get some lunch. After 3 or 4 hours I had made it to Puerto Rico. I met my friends and we went to our Airbnb and then explored Puerto Rico the next day. Old San Juan is amazing you need to check it out if you ever go.

This was my first and last cruise. I am at loss for words… As a first time cruiser I had a lot of things to learn. Just suck that it came at such an expensive price! The only reason they got a 2 is because the service was good and our room was made everyday just like we like it. Read More. After reading all the negative reviews I almost did not book this old ship! I am picky, really picky and I am a true "Karen". I booked he one bedroom Owner's suite cabin. This cabin was on deck 10 and near the elevator, which after pulling a hamstring days before the cruise was extremely helpful. The towels were not exactly fluffy and yes the hot water handle fell off when I turned it on, Booked this cruise because of the itinerary. I planned on visiting friends in both Barbados and Tobago, which I did.
All entertainment was geared to one group of people.
Great cruise, Crappy stateroom by joycegoehring. Read full review. If was decent but not outstanding. The tours we did had great guides for the most part but they were just ok. Food was ok.

This ship is ideal for cruisers who don't go in for bells and whistles, but instead prefer a traditional cruising experience. One thing to bear in mind when deciding whether to pick Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas is that, as mellow as it feels on sea days, there can still be some 2, plus passengers onboard. That means there can be a bit of a crush in ports where you need to take a tender to shore. Another downside is that you have to cough up for quite a few additional expenses, such as specialty coffees and room service. Deck 5 is home to the Centrum, the heart of the ship. Deck 6 is where passengers can find most specialty restaurants and the casino, along with a few other features, including the cinema, and a handful of bars. Cabins are spread across multiple decks, but only two of them decks 8 and 9 are sandwiched between room-only decks. This means that many staterooms can potentially be subject to noise from public spaces, including the pool, the casino, and restaurants.

Drinks, excluding water, tea including iced tea , coffee, lemonade and selected juices from Windjammer Buffet. Watch my in-depth video about the Jewel of the Seas and also the destinations and excursions I went on. Our room Stewart Clarke very friendly did a great job. Getting on was the normal made house stuff you get while getting on a big ship. Select sail month. Spa and salon treatments and services. With our bags packed, we were ready. With the exception of the revolving bar in the Vortex nightclub and the racing theme of The Pit Stop bar, the ship doesn't really go in for gimmicks. A good selection each night I would usually order two appetizers one main course and then 2 desserts. I wore my favorite first-day cruising attire, we grabbed our bags and headed to the port. Excellent cruise to relax and unwind.

Use of the fitness center excluding most classes. In , the ship went into dry dock for a nip and tuck that gave it two new specialty restaurants, a new wine bar, an outdoor movie screen and also gave its staterooms some TLC. Yes 5. The Jewel is one of the smaller ships but it was perfect for this intinerary because it was so port-heavy. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary that included Iceland and Greenland, and the price we travel a lot, before the Jewel , we spent weeks in Europe and since this cruise we spent 6 weeks in Singapore Read More.
