There are lots of things to unlock, with many of them connected to defeating certain bosses. However, some are a little more hidden, including what might be Repentance 's most interesting series of unlocks. Tainted characters are new versions of every single Binding of Isaac character, with their core abilities reimagined to be more interesting to a fan of modern roguelikes. These incredibly unique characters are somewhat difficult to unlock, requiring players to have already made some significant progress through the game's unlocks. Tainted characters are also more complicated to play due to their advanced mechanics, so players must make sure they have a fair amount of experience with the game before playing as them. To start, players will need to unlock the alternate path that was one of Repentance 's main additions.

Isaac unlocks

The Binding of Isaac Rebirth is a classic rogue-like game with bullet hell elements. The gameplay is solid, and the story bizarre and deeply depressing. Even more stunning is the level of replayability with multiple character and item unlocks that, when combined with procedurally generated levels, enemies, and even randomized bosses, makes no two games the same. Or, for those without the time, the gist of what happens in each ending! The already mammoth game has even more replayability as players dive in to find out what has changed. To help those descending back into the horrors of Isaac's mind, here are the additional endings and some of the perks that come with each ending. This ending is fairly basic to achieve, simply defeat Mom and players will earn this misleading ending. Isaac imagines his mother cornering him with a knife ready to sacrifice him to the voices in her head when The Bible falls from the shelf and kills her. Unfortunately for Isaac, this turned out to be an imaginative story all in his head, and his mother opens the door behind him to reveal a darker fate for the hero. After a commotion, he breaks free of the chest in an explosion of light as the character Eden with white hair that changes styles and bright glowing yellow eyes. Getting this ending will unlock the playable character Eden. The player must have an Eden tokens to play as this character which are earned by defeating various bosses. For whatever reason, he slathers it on his eyes, turning them pasty white while gluing his eyelids open.

Infinite use items such as Potato Peeler count as charged and provide the bonus from this trinket, isaac unlocks. Killing a petrified enemy will freeze it.

The Forgotten is a secret character added in Booster Pack 5 that resembles a Bony. He cannot fire regular tears, and instead has a bone club that can be swung as a melee weapon or charged to be thrown. The Forgotten cannot acquire regular heart containers. The Forgotten and The Soul share a health bar, so each form has a maximum of 6 hearts instead of the regular If The Soul or The Forgotten dies, the run will end. The Lamb must have been defeated previously before The Forgotten can be unlocked, and unlocking The Forgotten can be done in both Normal and Hard difficulty. Having The Negative unlocked is recommended. Step 1 and Step 2 can be circumvented entirely if the player manages to use Spindown Dice on Mucormycosis , as it will reroll into the completed Shovel.

While you're at it, try to get Cracked Crown as well; it's a really good stat trinket. Take the two key pieces to Dark Room or Chest, the door will automatically unlock, defeat Mega Satan, and Apollyon will become a playable character. I don't know about you, but I couldn't care less about baby skins. They also retain most of your bomb synergizing items. Your tears will now be connected together by beams of electricity which deals damage to enemies they hit. Tainted Apollyon. Umbilical Cord has a high chance to spawn a Gemini familiar for the room when Isaac takes damage. This should definitely be done after most of the others. Do this unlock while getting the next one. The Binding of Isaac has a lot of characters, each with their own perks. Samson deals more damage the more he takes, Azazel starts with a shorter-range Brimstone, and Eden is randomized each run. They can even be upgraded, so there's a lot to unpack when it comes to Isaac's character selection screen, and not all of the unlocks are immediately visible.
