The location is superb, but it's the attention to detail and quality in all of the furnishings and accessories that make it lovely. The hoise is beautiful. The Iona books are not just there they are there and nicely presented. It is spotless and would not be the same without Richard running it. His concern for his guests' comfort is amazing. The pre dinner wine was very welcome. Whilst it seems expensive to stay there, when compared with the hotels on the island, it's similar. I loved it and will return. Great basic accommodation if you want to explore Iona. We had comfortable 4-person room. Showers are separate, but OK. No towels. There is a handy laundromat for washing clothes.
