The Infinity Stones were six immensely powerful gem-like objects tied to different aspects of the universe, created by the Big Bang [3] from six singularities. Only beings of immense power can directly wield the Stones, such as Celestials , and the Mad Titan Thanos. Lesser beings would face dire consequences: Johann Schmidt was cursed to Vormir to guard the Soul Stone after touching an active Tesseract , Jane Foster became ill after being exposed to the Aether , Carina exploded when she touched the Power Stone ; however, these effects can be reduced if a group is sharing the power among themselves. It is also possible to place an Infinity Stone or multiple inside a container to allow the user to wield the Stone's power without suffering the normal repercussions. When Thanos successfully collected all of them, he used their phenomenal powers to annihilate half of all living creatures in the universe. He later used the stones' power to reduce them to atoms, as to prevent his work from being undone and to keep himself or anyone else from abusing their power. Five years later , the Avengers traveled back in time to retrieve the stones from alternate timelines in order to resurrect the victims of the Snap. After the Battle of Earth , Captain America returned the stones to their respective timelines. Before the universe began, six singularities existed. The Big Bang then formed concentrated crystals out of them and sent the six stones hurtling throughout the universe.
Loki tried and failed to control Iron Man with the Scepter. Four of them were in S.
The Infinity Gems originally referred to as Soul Gems and later as Infinity Stones are six fictional gems appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics , named after and embodying various aspects of existence. The gems can grant whoever wields them various powers in accordance to the aspect of existence they represent, and have the potential of turning the wielder into a god-like being when the main six Mind, Power, Reality, Soul, Space, and Time are held together. Thus, they are among the most powerful and sought-after items in the Marvel Universe ; playing important roles in several storylines, in which they were wielded by characters such as Thanos and Adam Warlock. Some of these stories depict additional Infinity Gems or similar objects. Although, the Infinity Gems altogether give its user nigh-omnipotence, the Gems only function on the universe they belong to and not on alternate realities. The Gems have appeared in several media adaptations outside of comics, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe film franchise, where they are called Infinity Stones and have their colors altered. These changes were later adapted into the comics.

As shown, each Hero Factor countered a specific Infinity Stone. Hulk theorized that not even Thor, an exceptionally powerful Asgardian, would be unable to survive a snap, though it should be noted that Thor was not in good physical condition at the time. The stones were the one plot device standing in the shadows of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, from the early days with Thor through the final act of Phase 3. But the question remains, even now: What the heck are the Infinity Stones? And where are the stones now?
All the Guardians join hands, and together they can manage its power. Thanos first obtained the Soul Stone from Adam Warlock. In order to wield the Soul Stone, the Soul Stone demanded that those who seek to wield it must first sacrifice someone they loved, so as to ensure that whoever seeks the Soul Stone does indeed understand its power. Tony Stark and Bruce Banner used the scepter to develop Ultron , an artificial intelligence that could control the Iron Legion more effectively than J. However, even the Gauntlet itself was left heavily burnt from channeling and focusing the power of all six Stones, being seemingly rendered useless after it had done this a second time. Using its power, the Silver Surfer became the Dark Surfer and used the Gauntlet's powers to scatter the Squaddies across six different dimensions. We first see the Infinity Gauntlet in the treasure room of Asgard in the first Thor. After a blinding light, Thanos awoke with the stone in his hand, which he added to the gauntlet. After being shown that Adam Warlock was too mentally unpredictable, he was required to surrender it. However, the Silver Surfer interfered and destroyed the machine, and the gems were lost in a black hole.
Speaking frankly, you are absolutely right.
