Ijji 4 , an all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue spot, recently opened in northwest Reno, joining its three older, sushi-centric siblings sprinkled across Reno and Sparks. The restaurant features cuts of meat and seafood Angus brisket, pork belly, spicy squid, Hawaiian-marinated steak and so on , plus vegetables, that diners cook on tabletop grills. Sauces and the Korean side dishes known as banchan kimchi, spicy fish cake, etc. The menu also offers appetizers like seafood pancakes, kimchi fried rice and japchae sweet potato noodles stir fried with vegetables; noodle dishes like spicy cold noodles; Korean soups and stews; and three styles of bibimbap, a Korean rice dish popular in this country. Korean barbecue dishes have been served over the years at a handful of Reno restaurants and currently are being served at restaurants like Hana Garden in Sparks and Rim in Grand Sierra , but Ijji 4 is the first, as best we can tell, to showcase Korean barbecue. The bar area is especially attractive, with its glowing back bar, gleaming upholstered stools, stylized lantern fixtures, soaring ceilings, and mix of quilted chairs and banquettes in rich red and burnt umber. As some folks have annoyingly complained online, Ijji 4, unlike its forebears, does not serve all-you-can-eat sushi.
