Hsbc push notifications not working
Thousands of account holders with major high street bank HSBC have reported issues with the app and online banking. Around 64 per cent of these reported problems were about the app, while 21 per cent were about online banking.
So if my HSBC investment ever gets better I can use a standing order to top it up and avoid the headache! The notifications are there in the app if you tap on the bell icon, just not received as push notifications. Normally straight after the transaction. That never used to happen but has become more frequent of late. Mine all came in at around am this morning.

I do wonder if it has anything to do with the number of accounts I have - 7 at the moment current, 2 savings and 4 investment-related. The timeline posted on FintechTalk by an insider about a year ago seems to have gone completely out of the window, too. My First Direct is now a lame duck. Notifications are not mentioned anywhere on their website, nor in the App Store. Contacted Customer Services a couple of days ago and was told that they had no information about what was happening with notifications. I had a look at the website this morning and it now mentions transaction notifications as a reason to download the mobile app.

It seems no one from HSBC can give the definitive answer. Err… anyone else still not got push notifications or is it just me? I was with First Direct for a couple of years at one time but the app was dreadful - all blocky and just black on white. DSK was in its infancy at the time and made things very complicated. Good to know that they will be a possibility in the future, though I do love my notifications. Yeah, it sounds like they are still fairly similar and actually behind HSBC in lots of ways with features. It sounds like they may finally be adding some fintech-inspired features, which is interesting. I installed the new HSBC app today and it has finally enabled notifications for me.
