Globally it remains on sale as the Lead Overseas the Aero 80 was sold as the Lead The Aero 80 was dropped here after but elsewhere it continued to be updated. The present generation is the Lead , which is what arrived as the Elite. Like the Elite 80 and the Aero 80 , this scooter offered small wheels and great power for running around town. With nearly 9hp and 6. Owners will have no trouble keeping up with traffic around town on this scoot. Top speed on the Elite is restricted to mph. Unrestricted, the Elite can wander to about mph. Any visual ties to the Elite scooters of old are minor, although he headlight shape and headset unit is reminiscent of the Elite Overall, Honda did quite a nice job with this scooter. The front of the scooter seems a little less inspired but its still a clean and flowing shape. A few other nice touches include the fold out passenger pegs and mini-SHi rims. The stylish integrated blinkers mounted just above the front fender were capped off and new blinkers mounted just below the brake levers.
Steering Steering Control. Telescopic Fork. With a 12 inch front tire, getting the seat height down to 29 inches means that leg room suffers.
Honda's new Elite was introduced to the press in Los Angeles Shakey Town , a city known for bad traffic and earthquakes. Push the starter button, and the Elite's little engine snaps to life with a whisper-quiet idle, and offers excellent throttle response throughout the rev range. Honda's automatic V-Matic belt-drive system provides stepless acceleration, plus twist-and-go ease. Top speed is about 50 mph, and the Elite gets up there rather quickly, keeping up with cars. However, its undercc displacement makes it illegal on major California highways - check local laws. The tubular steel chassis has a 33mm hydraulic fork with 3.

This bike is maintenance-free. I ride it every day. One time I did ride it in 5 degree weather Jan '15 and had to hit the starter for at least a full minute before it started--but You cannot beat this, and you can't even get close with another bike. It holds a full-face helmet and a half helmet, and rain pants, jacket, gloves, and miscellany, plus whatever you put in the glovebox. Or a full grocery run for 1 person with no issues. It also holds beer just fine, still in the carton.

Share Tweet. Could I have made those stops in a car in under three hours? No flat spots. All the controls were easy to operate. The mirrors are wide and easily adjustable. Not much of a concern for me with a 30 inch inseam, but the longer-legged amongst us might not be comfortable on this scooter. Or a full grocery run for 1 person with no issues. Dash layout is basic, with a coolant-temperature gauge on the left, a speedometer sans trip meter in the middle, and fuel gauge on the right, plus a few essential indicator lamps. No worries, the turning signal warning sound is loud enough to keep a person from forgetting they are on. Sign up for our newsletter.

New Rider's Hub Get Started. Anyway As timblanch say 50 mph and mpg. Honda advertises up to MPG which I suppose would be possible under ideal conditions with a light rider and sticking to a 30 MPH top speed. Anyone own one? The Elite have all the characteristics that make for a good scooter small size, lots of storage, well designed, peppy. Standard procedure during our reviews is to do some GPS testing. Grab Rail or Strap. No flat spots. By I am an Owner on Dec 23, The look is clean. This is my primary vehicle, I ride rain or shine. The right lever only activates the front brake, but applying the left brake lever engages both the rear and the front brake via the CBS. It would also have to have enough guts to keep up with angry moms in minivans so I could lane-split without getting run over.
What charming topic
Be not deceived in this respect.
