It is always fun to go on a bonsai shopping trip and we were not disappointed on arrival at Lodder Bonsai near Harmelen in the Netherlands to find a new shipment of trees had just arrived plus the nursery as always was full of stunning bonsai trees of all species, shapes, styles and price ranges. It was great to catch up with Gerrit Lodder and his team who are always on hand to help with questions about the trees and pruning and repotting tips and if you get the time go to a workshop at the Hoka-en Bonsai studio. Gerrit tends to source the more unusual, rare and different tree species that are of great interest and if you are looking for tropical trees then look no further as the range of them at Lodder Bonsai is fabulous from Figs through to Guava with a complete A-Z of tropical trees for you to choose from it is heaven. It is like a one stop shop for all your bonsai needs with a superb range of bonsai pots for all sizes of bonsai trees as well as all the tools you could imagine. They also sell various bonsai soils, wire of all thicknesses and this year they have a range of bonsai stands and also petrified woods which are beautfiul.

Sandra and I popped down to the Wessex Bonsai Society winter image show held at the Kinson Community Centre on Sunday 12th Feb, this is a regular trip for us as the people are always friendly and the trees are always of interest plus two of our members are also members of their society. Derek Amelia, Ross and myself, visited this nursery on 7 th and 8 th February and had a fantastic time. Although we have been visiting for some years now, it never fails to impress and give us some very difficult choices from the huge selection of indoor and outdoor trees, pots and other bonsai equipment. The Swindon Show by Clive Harber-show manager. This years AGM was of mixed feelings for me as Adrian was standing down as our chairman due to moving further away, as Sandra said when we joined the club it had very humble beginnings, if we had eight members for a meeting we thought we where doing well. The following members bought trees in for the competition. No other places were recorded. After 15 years of being the Chairman for Warminster Bonsai Club, Adrian has stepped down from this role. He is one of the inaugural members of the club and fondly remembered the early years of the clubs beginnings. Clive Knight was nominated as the new Chairman and we are pleased to welcome him into this role. Adrian was presented with a small token of appreciation for all the hard work over the past 15 years, and he will remain a member of the club and we hope to see him at the monthly meetings.

Lodder Bonsai is a family business 4th generation that started in with a small greenhouse in the center of Utrecht, The Netherlands. The business started with the cultivation of all kinds of potted plants and its trade. In the early sixties the story of bonsai began with the first import of Pinus bonsai to Europe. We were the first company in Europe to be commercially involved with bonsai. Steadily the popularity of bonsai increased and in the seventies we decided to specialize solely in bonsai. During this time, the greenhouse was relocated to Vleuten and moved again to Harmelen in in a new sustainable greenhouse with over 16, m2 area. We continue to be passionate about spreading bonsai throughout Europe and remain a leader in the field of bonsai. We are known for our extensive product range, high quality and service.

We were warmly greeted by Gerrit Lodder who took time out to show us various fabulous bonsai trees and catch up since our visit last year. This year was as good as previous if not better as the breadth of tree species was incredible. You can see the full A- Z of bonsai all under one roof. We as usual spent many hours, well days deliberating and selecting trees then putting those back and re-selecting- not that we are indecisive or anything but the choice is staggering. We try to identify species we want before going but end up with a totally different outcome as there is always something unique or unusual that catches your eye. Whether you are a beginner to the hobby or a dedicated bonsai hobbyist there is something for you. They have a great selection of both tropical indoor trees as well as outdoor bonsai. The prices are very competitive and something to suit any budget as well as any style, shape, size and form. It is an ideal place to visit as you can not only buy a bonsai tree but get everything you will ever need to maintain it from pots to soils, tools , feed, and advice on how to care for it and prune it. Mr Gerrit Lodder has also extended his range of all things to do with Japanese gardens and if you need stunning garden Niwaki trees, bamboo fencing, lanterns or Acers get in touch with him or visit to find exactly what you need.

But the cushion and rocker bottom are nice.

There are many different varieties of bonsai — there are deciduous trees and coniferous trees, flowering trees and fruit trees.

The one complaint I have is the toughness of the rubber on the bottom. Skip, Zappos Customer , May 11, It takes about 4. This shoe is not working for me as a running shoe.
