Cutting tails on this game give nothing, but the fight will be easier without it. The best way is to just walk to the middle of stairs and prepare to run straight to him, this works even with low level.

It'll then appear at the large bridge after Taurus Demon , next to where Solaire of Astora is. Here, the dragon will fly across, engulfing it in fire, and then perch itself on top of the gate at the end of the bridge, blocking access to the Altar of Sunlight.

After climbing up down one flight of stairs, look across the bridge to see several undead waiting for you. If you walk across the side of the bridge without running you can sneak to the midpoint without getting burned by the dragon as well. If you're having a trouble getting past him there is another method, get to the staircase on the right side of the bridge. Poke out a little into his line of sight in order to get him to kill the Undead, the second you see him get ready to attack run back down the stairs. Once he's back to his usual spot get around the rails and up against the wall.

Start with Bonfire Ascetic and you can do it twice in a row. The Hellkite Drake rears its head to one side, and then sweeps it across the width of the bridge. Resummoning Masterless Glencour for the Dragonslayer can also be done, and you can clear all the way to the grey mist if needed with time left for the fight assuming the dragon has been dealt with. Abundance of Old Knights As you enter through the waterway from Majula , you are greeted with a beautiful vista of the flooded towers and sprawling walkways. On the railing-less platform in the ps4 version, there is not a sentinel for me it is a large drake. On your right the hallway opens up and you meet an Old Knight guarding a doorway. At the bottom of these stairs you'll find a corpse with a Divine Blessing. Is the wiki just wrong or is there another reason I fought a drake and the walkthrough claims it should be a sentinel?
