Guardian ape
He's found deep within the Sunken Valley.
The good news is that almost nothing that you need to do changes — except in the second phase, when things get complicated. There are always items and attacks that work well against Sekiro bosses. Our recommendations for the best items to bring to your fight with Guardian Ape and Brown Ape are sparse, though. You can get through this without resorting to an arsenal of bonus attacks. The first part of this fight is just like the second part of your previous battle with Guardian Ape.

Title says it all. I'm stuck on this guy. Stumped rather, since I know how to beat his first phase pretty easy although I get greedy or just fail evading sometimes. His second phase is where I find myself uh I can avoid all the attacks easy but the problem is I can't find a way to get a hit in besides MAYBE the screaming attack if I use the loaded umbrella. Any tips? I have the basics of every tool besides the whistle, also Mortal Blade too. I also have 7 gourds but that only helps so much really. I found that during 2nd phase the mose useful prosthetics are umbrella and spear. Umbrella helps countering some of the more annoying attacks like his long range lounge. In fact its the optimal strategy. Normal deflection of that lounge knocks you back, so you can't counter attack, but umbrella completely nullifies knockback and you can immediately follow with umbrella slash dealing precious vitality damage.
The animations, sound effects, guardian ape, the ost, the surprise second phase, the fact that it is not just another human enemy all combined to make this the most memorable and fun guardian ape encounter in the game. I think this is a really easy fight even without cheesing. From Helldivers 2 to Last Epoch, is already the year of server issues.
The door to access him is located behind the Centipede Giraffe boss but you'll need the Gun Fort Shrine Key from Kuro's library in order to unlock it and gain access to him. The Guardian Ape has two phases and is unable to block any of your attacks. This doesn't mean he's a pushover though; he spends a lot of time flailing his long arms or trying to crush you by rolling around, so you'll need to be quick to deflect or dodge his attacks. Firecrackers can be useful to stun him during the first phase of the fight but the second phase will require a lot of patience as he gains a whole new move-set. You fight the Guardian Ape in a large, water-logged area. Despite all of the space available, you want to stay as close—and to the back of him—as much as you can.
A massive white monkey with a large katana sticking through his neck, Guardian Ape lies at the end of the Sunken Valley. Be sure to bring some Pacifying Agent for the second stage of this boss fight. This ape is a measured test of endurance. In Phase 1 the Guardian Ape will circle around you waiting for the opportune moment to strike. After finally depleting all of his health and getting the deathblow by using the sword in his neck to chop off his head, you may think the fight is over. Suddenly his beheaded body gets up and grabs both the sword and his severed head. So now that the monkey is attacking you headless with a sword how should you approach it?

Bosses like the Guardian Ape are special, dangerous Enemies that feature a special display on-screen when defeated, such as " Shinobi Execution " or other message, in certain circumstances. You will need to perform multiple Deathblows on them in order to defeat them, and filling their Posture Gauge is one way to accomplish this, as well as depleting their health. Decreasing their health will also make it so their Posture Gauge refills more slowly, assisting you in accomplishing this feat. She probably has more wolves in Valheim than you. I ended up finishing him by destroying his health bar, so I guess my deflection wasn't on par here. In fact its the optimal strategy. This boss has the most brutal scaling of all the bosses which makes it become harder at every cycle you do. Get this twice with chip damage and you win. His vitality threshold for a stagger is actually really poor, so you don't have to play particularly greedy, you'll hit it soon enough with just chip. I do think any umbrella works for the scream attack against build up, just figured I'd point this out in case anyone is confused when they see that recommendation. The perilous sweep you can supposedly jump on to also make the overhead slam combo but I never managed it and always just avoided it. A prompt to use the Grappling Hook will appear, allowing Sekiro to close the gap and causes a brief stagger.

Our recommendations for the best items to bring to your fight with Guardian Ape and Brown Ape are sparse, though. Most of his attacks can be completely avoided by running around the Boss as the combo progresses and punished with a couple of swings when it ends. You can get a good five or six hits in there, but as soon as he starts to get back up, back off. Pro-Tip: As for most bosses, Shinobi Firecrackers are a good option to disrupt the boss allowing you to get hits in. Just luck i guess 1 phase run around , lots of openings 2 phase deflect, deflect spear jank , punish dives. Wow i just fought this dude for the first time, easily beat the first phase then started walking around trying to figure out where i needed to go, then i realized the fog gate thing wasn't gone and at that moment he got back up and proceeded to whoop my ass. It will fight you with the sword used to decapitate it in its right hand, and its severed, still living head in its left. Those are easy enough to block individually. I also used Nightjar Reversal when in the air by the grapple point as it roared. It deals CRAP ton of posture damage to the ape and shortens the fight by a lot. The first phase can be quickly ended by stunlocking the Boss at the start of the fight with a combination of Ceremonial Tanto to gain further Spirit Emblems , Yashariku's Sugar to enhance physical damage, Shinobi Firecracker to immobilize the Ape and five swings of the Mortal Draw directly to his face to fill the entire Posture Bar. Since in this phase the Guardian Ape changes from a beast-type to an apparition-type, the Shinobi Firecracker does not affect it.
