It was a special occasion, so my parents, boyfriend and I decided to try a different and more upscale Chinese restaurant for dim sum. A good thing about this place is that there is lots of free parking! But we wanted to try this place, so we waited and looked at the menu. It actually ended up only being a 20 minute wait so yay! But they seem to have solved the issue by borrowing the space in their sister Japanese restaurant next door for the overflowing Dim Sum goers. Everything about this dish was spot-on including the colour, the texture, and the taste. I love the bright green bits of watercress that makes it so pretty to look at, and so darn delicious with the extra freshness and sweetness. As the use of seafood is predominant in Cantonese cuisine, shrimp is probably the most common ingredient in Dim Sum.

J-doug One of my favourite dimsum places to visit when I'm in the Burnaby area. The main dining area was full so we were seated on the Shoto Izakaya Japanese restaurant side. It's much quieter and a better location if you want some decent conversation with your fellow diners. Unfortunately their booths are far from comfortable. The table is too far away from the seat and the back is super straight.
