Adams put a spin on the slogan in a Christmas advert for Ferry Clever, a graphic design company based in Derry in Northern Ireland. The video was meant to raise funds for Foyle Search and Rescue services.
The short skit - which has caused outrage - was posted on the Ferry Clever Facebook page and shows a couple putting up Christmas decorations before Adams appears at the front door singing an altered version of 'Deck The Halls'. The Derry card shop posted the clip to promote one of their Christmas card's featuring Mr Adams. When the door closes, the man who answered it says "I can neither confirm nor deny it was carol singers" when he was asked who it was. The sketch has had mixed reactions on social media with some people loving the joke whilst others find it hurtful.
