Fuel Tank Foam Replacement Use this forum to discuss small engines, and the equipment or machinery that they power. This is the main section for any technical help posts and related questions. The anti-slosh foam in the tank is rotten. Does anyone know if there is a replacement foam part specific to this model that is available? I did not see one in the IPL for this engine. If not, what else can be used? My son and I have refurbished dozens of the old ss Briggs HP flatheads with the old "Pulsa-Jet" carbs mounted on top of the tanks used on our minibikes and go-karts. Not one of these tanks ever came with any type of anti-sloshing foam in the tank that I am aware of and they all performed just fine. Please forgive my ignorance as I have never heard of such a thing before

I initially started it with Easy start and it died. Search Advanced search…. Engine looks pretty good, was on yard go-kart, looks like little time on engine. Also does flash rusts afterwards as I have seen when I tried it. Log in. Luckily in those days you could dismantle the carb blow out the holes and reassemble in about 5 minutes. As it will be almost impossible to clean the rotted foam out best to find another tank. Sorted those two issues and it seems to run quite well. Any ideas? After running it I took the carb off and the little holding chamber in the fuel tank was full, so not sure if that means the fuel pumping mechanism is working and the problem is a blocked jet or something? I probably should have got the kart too, but already have too much stuff. Apparently quit running, then someone started taking off parts to trouble shoot it, and just left it disassembled.
