Prominent restaurateur Terry Laybourne was consultant on the Mediterranean-style eaterie - part of a multi-million pound revamp in Fenwick. We have more newsletters. A pivotal stage in the multi-million pound revamp of Fenwick food hall has been unveiled with the opening of a new Mediterranean wine bar and restaurant. The restaurant is centred on a wood stone oven, its name inspired by the feature stone at the centre of the impressive dining space. The concept and menu have been created by Fenwick executive chef Kelly Richardson, supported by Mr Laybourne of the 21 Hospitality Group, who acted as consultant on the project.

After a good long while studying the menu we decided to go for a handful of dishes to share rather than a pizza. Everything was delicious, my only gripe is the patatas bravas need a little something extra. A thicker, spicier sauce or a drizzle of aoli. Just something to make them pop beyond crispy potatoes and tomato. The polenta chips were crispy little slices of heaven, blanketed by shavings of parmesan and accompanied with a superbly garlicky romesco. I could have devoured portion after portion. Not to be left out, and neither of us is too keen on sharing a dessert, I ordered the baklava. It was a little too solid and not the sticky, crumbly mouthful I love. If I could go back in time I would have ordered the crema catalana which sounds unbelievable. It's not the cheapest but I've never came away thinking I paid too much.
