Fortnite is getting a sus update with the addition of Among Us cosmetics. Innersloth announced the collaboration in a blog post , and many popular Fortnite content creators were quick to share their reactions on social media. Many of the reactions ranged from disbelief to excitement, depending on the creator. It was leaked previously that Among Us was coming to Fortnite, but no one knew what the cosmetics would look like. The back bling features the iconic crew member from the game, offered in a wide range of colors.

Members of the development team for the highly successful indie game Among Us have taken to social media to call out Fortnite's new Impostor mode, which strongly resembles their game. The new game mode, which pits eight Agents against two Impostors in a battle of wits and espionage, shares an uncanny similarity to Among Us in terms of gameplay and design. After the announcement — which Innersloth confirmed to IGN was not a collaboration between the two games — individual members of the indie studio took to Twitter to share their feelings on the situation. Programmer Gary Porter was quick to point out some similarities between Fortnite's Loop Control facility and Skeld - the first map to debut in Among Us. Innersloth co-founder Marcus Bromander, better known by his online name, PuffballsUnited added, "We didn't patent the Among Us mechanics. I don't think that leads to a healthy game industry. It's okay tho they flipped electrical and medbay and connected security to the cafeteria. Among Us Community Director Victoria Tran said on Twitter "it would've been really, really cool to collab," before going on to point out the seeming similarities in themes and terminology that the two games share. Despite the team's grievances with Fortnite's new game mode, it's not all doom and gloom for the indie studio.
