Ford ranger clutch pedal not returning
Using the vehicle selector to the right will present you with the correct selection of parts relevant to your specific vehicle. Manual transmissions were pretty popular on Ford Rangers, which were discontinued in While the Ranger was a well-built truck, there are a few issues Ford Ranger owners note with their clutch system. Since we sell quite a few clutch kits for the Ford Ranger , we've decided to offer a quick troubleshooting guide for Ranger clutch problems. Basically, the hydraulics are not working, so the system will not work. Fix: The first, and easiest, task is to check the fluid level. If low, top off the system and test the clutch pedal. Next, check for leaks along the hydraulic lines. If discovered, identify and replace the bad lines or seals. Then, bleed the clutch system to get any air out. Even the smallest amount of air in the lines can prevent proper operation. If none of these helped, the slave cylinder, master cylinder, or both likely need to be replaced. Problem: More times than not, you still have air in the clutch line and need to further bleed the system. Fix: If a new installation: check pedal height and adjust to factory specifications.
That diagram is from heaven!
I'd appreciate the hive's help here. My neighbor has a Ford Ranger with 5MT and 4 cyl engine. He asked for my help diagnosing a suddenly not-working clutch. I came over expecting to see leaking fluid and a broken or dislodged hyrdraulic line. No dice.
Clutch pedal will not return. Thread Tools. You would think this big spring would pull the pedal back up with no problem, however it does not. When I push the pedal down it will stay down. I can pull it up but the spring does not seem to do it's part. I don't know if it is the angle of the piece that holds connects the spring or if it is just a weak spring. Its hard to believe this big spring will not bring the pedal back into position. Here are some pictures I always like pictures. By the way I put a new clutch spring down below 9. The long spring that attaches to the clutch adjusting rod should not have anything to do with the clutch pedal returning I don't think??

Last edited: Dec 19, It is most likely the master. Problem: More times than not, you still have air in the clutch line and need to further bleed the system. If discovered, identify and replace the bad lines or seals. Crack the bleeder, put on the hose, and run the other end up to the MC reservoir. Upgrades can be about making your vehicle more comfortable, too. So my neighbor decided to just drive it to the shop without the clutch. Yep, internal slave. If this doesn't work, you must remove the master cylinder and bench bleed it. Click the banner to find out how. Adjustments to the master cylinder push rod may be necessary to provide the proper clutch pedal free play. There is fluid in the reservior, but there looks to be a leak in the hose that connects to the transmission.
The clutch lever in my Ranger goes down and gets stuck. The gear lever locks and only unlocks when clutch lever is lifted up.
Have a new question for the CarsGuide team? I can't see it being the master because there is no fluid movement when she pushes in the clutch. The Quick disconnect fitting on the end of the Master Cylinder's hose has a valve that is pushed open when slave connection is pushed into it If Quick disconnect pops off or is not on all the way the clutch pedal can't be pushed down. So my neighbor decided to just drive it to the shop without the clutch. Please take a few seconds and Register for our forum. BUT what it also says is that if you let clutch up took quick you may loose the pedal as fluid cant get in quick enough from reservoir or pipe to reservoir might have gunk.. See why a cheap tow hook can be risky. If none of these helped, the slave cylinder, master cylinder, or both likely need to be replaced. Carsguide is not liable for the accuracy of any information provided in the answers. I'm gonna try bleeding it again.. You'll need to log in to post.
I am sorry, that I interrupt you, but you could not paint little bit more in detail.
I confirm. I join told all above. We can communicate on this theme. Here or in PM.
