Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you have not watched the season finale of Fire Country. How will Fire Country get out of this one? The CBS procedural ended its freshman season Friday on quite a predicament, with Bode Donovan Max Thieriot being put back in prison after his drug test came back positive, even though he's been clean. With uncertainty looming over how he'll make his way back to the fire crew, if he does, there are certainly legal ramifications for how he'll attempt to rectify his situation.

The show's first season ended with a shocking twist that will no doubt affect the series deeply and set our heroes up for some interesting conflicts moving forward. With Fire Country returning this Friday, here's what you need to remember about where we left off heading into Season 2. A young convict joins a firefighting program looking for redemption and a shortened prison sentence. He and other inmates work alongside elite firefighters to extinguish massive blazes across the region. Unwillingly, Bode whose real surname is Leone is taken to the Northern Californian town of Edgewater, which is where he grew up——and also where his parents, Shanon Farr and Vince Leone Burke , live. Because of the accidental death of his sister in a car wreck, Bode is estranged from his parents , especially Vince, who wishes his son would've died instead. After dealing with an inmate from his past named Sleeper Grant Harvey , Bode thought he was rid of the drug-dealing firefighter for good. But Sleeper had Bode's clean urine sample swapped out for a bad one, just in time for his parole hearing. Bode and Freddy are nearly killed in another mudslide but miraculously make it out. Later, at Bode's hearing, he appeared ready to explain himself with a well-prepared statement, which he read to Manny. Manny finally comes around, believing Bode's innocence just before the hearing is about to begin. With his family, friends, and Gabriella all present, Bode made the hard choice to name himself guilty of drug abuse and distribution, knowing that it would send him straight back to prison.

The ending was a real downer. The introduction of sleeper was ridiculous.

It set up quite the plot for season 2 to dive into once the series returns in the fall. Cookie had arrived a day early to surprise Freddie ahead of the wedding, but a major rainstorm had hit the night prior which had dangerously softened the ground. As she and her friend admired the wedding dress she was wearing, they heard a rumble and looked out the window only to come to the horrific realization that they were about to be hit by a mudslide. They both ran for cover, with Cookie making a dash for her baby. She, her friend, and her baby make it out alive and in one piece, but Cookie almost did succumb to the mudslide.
