The friendship between Carole and Alex is based on unconditional love and support, the kind of connection that can only be described as platonic soulmates. Of course, then there's Netflixisation of everything - the action comes to sudden halts, some sections deliberately look like song montages, and the story never really comes full circle. So I really don't understand the bad ratings it received, possibly because some right wing nut job, didn't like the fact that it's an all female cast and they're kicking ass.
