I thought I was simply being careless until I realized why I wasn't able to differentiate between multiple file explorer windows. As you can see from the image below—there is a border line present in the dark app mode but not in the light app mode. A quick note about the Show accent color on the following surfaces option; I use the light app mode because my background is black I also don't like the dark app mode. Although enabling the Title bars and window borders option solves the border line issue, it creates a new problem by making the file explorer and program window title dark which blends into my black background.
