There is no parking outside but there is normally space on Shear Brow further down the road Please park responsibly! The restaurant serves up a range of dishes such as house specials, sizzlers, and steaks. It also offers pizzas, jacket potatoes and sandwiches for those not looking at something too heavy. There has been a growth in small to medium-sized restaurants of this nature in recent years who are aiming to present their own style of British-Asian cuisine. These are inspired by the traditional British meals you may well find in a carvery or a village eatery but with a subtle Asian twist. In some restaurants the chef will drown the dishes in masala and spices thus losing the very essence of the dish. Their daily house specials are listed on a board next to reception and made for some interesting reading. During our visit here we opted for the lamb shank, the chilli chicken sizzler and the New Yorker. The latter is a beef patty, American cheese, fried egg, salad, tomato. Quite a mouthful for anyone. Some of the portions are a tad smaller than elsewhere I have been but that should not take away from the fact that the food is well presented and is of a high standard. The gravy for the spicy lamb shank arrived a few minutes after I had already tucked into the dish but by then then I did not even notice.

The well-known restaurant in Blackburn called Fig and Olive was a must especially when the kind owners of this place kindly invited my family to have a meal here. Although we had a hectic schedule during the week on our way back to Blackburn from Edinburgh. We managed to squeeze in a late-night meal here, and on a typical Friday night, it was bound to be busy. Being our luck it certainly was when we arrived, since we had to wait 20 minutes or so as another family was sitting already. Before myself and the family took a seat, we ordered our meal from their menu, so by the time we sat down our food was ready. From their menu, I had a quick long look to see what would be nice to have, so I first decided on my drink which was the Passion Fruit Mojito. Whilst everyone ordered their food, what my family ordered was the 'Peri Peri Chicken melts', 'Crispy Chicken Burger' for my little nephews, 'Chicken Steak' and 'Wings'. After skimming through their menu, I finally decided to opt for their T Bone Steak, as I wanted to try something different as we were having Indian food throughout the week elsewhere. I found their prices pretty reasonable, but as it was quite late, we didn't feel as hungry to order more. This was really refreshing and exactly what I needed after a warm day and a day full of travels.
