It was not cute; I just put what we had wherever I could! A few months later, we moved, and I got another chance to try and decorate our little house. This time, I decided to look up some inspiration before I got started. I still remember finding the first pictures of the loft. I spent days staring at the pictures and going through my housing resources, trying to figure out what had been used where. And when I figured out how to create that loft using a bunch of troupe stages and a volatile glitch, I was so happy!

Then, I do my best to build them, usually with my own flair. Mostly, I gravitate toward bright, clean builds, and even high-contrast Cali mod-style ones. But there was one that caught my eye that was just so different, I had to try! It was gorgeous, with a massive wall of windows and a dark, moody vibe that emphasized the natural light even more. With this build, even though it was an apartment with wildly limited slots, I wanted to try building a suspension-style staircase to the loft level. So instead, I decided to take a slightly different approach by leaving the door open to show some outdoor space. Nice to meet you. A particularly popular trick with designers is to float partitions up from the floor below to create anything from custom kitchens to windows, fireplaces, and more. Instead, what you can do is use a partition and a wooden beam to sink wall-mounted items into the floor, giving you some of the same building flexibility even without a basement. For example, a lowered ceiling could also be a floor for another level, or a wall could also be a divider for another room. If you need some inspiration, I highly recommend checking out photos and shows about tiny homes; they always have wild combinations of furniture and features that can give you ideas for your apartment. Apartments are really limited in terms of their size, so my favourite trick to make them feel bigger is to emphasize their vertical space. Because of the way the cameras work in FFXIV, rooms are tall enough to build a second floor—and doing this at least in part of your apartment will make the rest of the room feel much taller.
