How do parents' beliefs, feelings, and behaviors relate to their children's abnormal development? My research interests are in the areas of child and family mental health and wellness, child and developmental psychopathology, and child and family evidence-based assessment and treatment. Our studies have focused on interactional patterns of disturbed and normal children and their families. Through the use of multi-method assessment strategies, we have attempted to identify the various cognitive, emotional, and attitudinal factors that influence parenting, child behavior and development, and family relationships. Recent studies focus on early development in families at risk for ADHD. Since completing my postdoctoral studies in clinical child psychology I have been a Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology and in the Clinical Program at the University of Calgary. I am a Fellow of the Canadian and American Psychological Association and have served as an editor, editorial board member, and editorial consultant for numerous scientific and professional journals.
