Ender 3 z offset
Hi all, i use an Ender 3 V2 and the Z offset that i store directly on the printer gets reset to 0 every time i restart the printer. It ender 3 z offset in the past but not anymore since a couple of weeks i did not update anythin in between.
We all want our prints and projects to come out exactly as planned- that is one of the perks of 3D printing after all. So when a lopsided, crooked or even squashed looking print comes off your Ender 3D Pro … it is definitely not the kind of result you wanted. Lucky for you it is a fairly easy fix with the Z offset function. Z Offset function is what sets your printing platform to a level and solid base, allows your print to have the filament printed correctly on top of the last layer, and enables you to create complicated prints. With that, we will run through a series of adjustments and features that could take your printing to the next level with the Ender 3 and Ender 3 Pro.

And having problem on all printers, after making mesh and setting z offset seems everything ok and prints are perfect, but if i try launch another print z offset already changed and nozzle touch the bed. Z axis perfectly calibrated, bet tight and not moving, x axis stable. The Z-offset is typically a printer firmware thing. Are you using a plugin in Cura to set the Z-Offset? Maybe there is something in your startup gcode that affects it? Is the actual number value of the Z-offset changing or is the printer simply doing something different even though the number is the same? The number of z offset are same but nozzle push plate hard after print. Sometimes even after setting z offset with paper everything ok, i press home and try check one more time and wrong. The endstop switches are the same so try swapping the Y endstop switch with the Z endstop switch and see if it makes a difference on at least one machine. The Endstop switches aren't very "repeatable". When you auto-home and level the bed and then the printer sees the "G28" in the StartUp gcode it homes the Z again. But im not using z stopper on any printer, i use only bltouch. I should install z stopper and use bltouch at the same time?

I'm looking at the Ender 3 V3 SE as an additional printer, and while I'm aware it's a very new model and so support may be limited, I was wondering if anyone had any information on the following:. My goal is to be able to fully control the 3V3SE via octoprint without needing the control panel plugged in to save space like I do my 3V2. OctoPrint communicates with the printer firmware and the features you are asking about are should be firmware features. That being said this is a Creality printer and Creality is infamous for taking perfectly good Marlin firmware and making very bizarre changes. Thanks for the reply! I was able to find the gcode commands to trigger, and load, mesh probing data, and also the M command for setting z-offset. However, I haven't been able to find anything about using the nozzle strain sensor to set the z-offset automatically, which seems like a crucial feature.
I will be covering four different ways to calibrate the Z offset Manual, on the Firmware, on the Slicer, and using G-Code. Z offset is the distance between the hot end and the Z home position on 3D printers. The most common reasons for adjusting the Z offset are to allow for the addition of a glass or thick bed material, and to fine tune the first layer for the best printing quality possible. Like with any good 3D printed part, it all starts with the first layer; Get that one right and your print will more than likely come out looking great, get it wrong and it might detach from the build plate and create loads of issues. There are many reasons to calibrate the Z offset on an Ender 3, such as leveling the bed properly, adding a glass sheet to the bed, printing more complicated models, and even printing on top of another object. If, for instance, you want to print on a glass sheet, you will more than likely have to adjust the offset since the thickness of the glass may not allow you to lower the bed enough to where you can get the nozzle to be at the right distance from it, and it will end up digging into the glass. Now you need to evaluate if more adjusting is needed; If the filament is not sticking well to the bed, then go back to the offset settings and lower the nozzle height slightly, and do the opposite if the nozzle is digging into the bed. You can send G-code commands using a G-code terminal Prontoface, for example to adjust the Z offset.

You'll Need 1. The Z-axis limiter switch tells the printer where the z-axis begins on your 3D printer. When you auto-home your Ender 3, the extruder base moves down until it runs into the Z-axis limiter switch, telling it to stop moving down. This protects your print bed. Most of you will need to adjust your Z-axis limiter switch up a touch. If you find that you need to adjust it down beyond the bracket, then you might be having a different issue that adjusting the Z-axis limiter switch will not solve. Run an auto-home sequence and try to level your bed. Introducing Howchoo, an enigmatic author whose unique pen name reflects their boundless curiosity and limitless creativity. I don't have any gcode setup as I haven't purchased the printer yet. OP's printer is misconfigured, and adjusting gcode is not the way to fix that. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. By frink December 5, in Improve your 3D prints. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Can this be triggered via gcode added via slicer or octoprint or a plugin I assume for the above, if it can be triggered, the data is stored printer-side and used when printing? So when a lopsided, crooked or even squashed looking print comes off your Ender 3D Pro … it is definitely not the kind of result you wanted. Once desired height is achieved- tighten screws. I don't have any gcode setup as I haven't purchased the printer yet. I'm not sure if the gcode generated by Cura will ever change this during the print I think it only resets the extruder. Register a new account. But i having other issue about ender 3 s1 which firmware i should use? When you auto-home and level the bed and then the printer sees the "G28" in the StartUp gcode it homes the Z again. You can load the gcode in Cura before you print to have a look, but I'm not sure it can display it properly:. Sign in Already have an account? Can't i change somethin in the Start G-code. I consider, what is it error.
It is remarkable, rather amusing answer
