An Elf's Story: The Elf on the Shelf from is a heartwarming Christmas movie that follows the magical journey of one of Santa's special elves. This minute animated movie is based on the beloved children's book by Carol Aebersold and is sure to bring a smile to kids' faces and ignite the Christmas spirit in all of us. The movie begins with a detailed explanation of Santa's magical toymaking factory and the big man in red's intense preparation for Christmas Eve. As part of his preparations, Santa sends his Elf on the Shelf, Chippey, out to conduct his regular inspection of children's behavior to determine their eligibility to receive gifts on Christmas Day. However, Chippey is unlike other elves because he is gifted with the ability to communicate with humans. The movie's plot primarily revolves around Taylor McTuttle, a young boy who has just moved to a new town and is struggling to adjust to his new life.
