Drives: Yaris XP9 1. So, Since a while we are seeing the check engine light pop up sometimes on our Yaris 1. I saw this for the first time about three months ago. Had some issues with the rear muffler, but that one was replaced for a original one by the dealer. New muffler sits under the car for about a month now, but i saw the P again last week. However, what is the cause of this and how can i solve it more permanently? Is there someone who has dealt with this error before?

I did measure the temp before and after that cat, the temp was NOT higher on the downstream side. It was cooler. I also think my truck smells like gas.
Do you think I should try changing the oxygen sensors first? If the exhaust gasses are not scrubbed in the cat enough to change the oxygen and NOx compounds, dtc p0420 toyota, than the readings of the downstream O2 sensor are too similar to the dtc p0420 toyota sensor and the OBD says "your cat is not working" and throws the code. At K miles, my cat is squeaky clean and just isn't working any more.
